We woke up bright and early this morning to make the hour long drive to the Ran-Tong elephant centre. During the trip, we learned a very catchy Thai elephant song.
When we arrived, it felt like an entire new world. There was a beautiful field and elephants everywhere. We learned new facts about them -(elephants can’t jump!)- and we were able to make food for the elephants and feed it to them. We were also able to bathe them, which was my favourite part. I wish I could have stayed there forever.
After lunch, we loaded the bus to travel to our second destination of the day. We went to another elephant farm, where we rode the elephants. The elephant ride was very bumpy and a little frightening at times, but it was a very good experience. The elephant ride took about 20-30 minutes, which gave us plenty of time to observe the beautiful view around us. Once the elephant ride was over, we went rafting down the river on bamboo rafts.
When we got back to the hotel, we had free time for a few hours to relax, shop, or anything else we could think of. Supper was a traditional Thai dance.
After supper, we had the option to go to the night market once again.
It was a very busy and tiring day, but I’m glad I did it. Today has absolutely been my favourite day so far.
