So we started out the day at 8AM. We drove about 2 hours and stopped in an old French community called Beaune, It was very European; small, narrow cobblestone streets that were line with cafes, bakeries and of course wine and chocolate shops! We had lunch on our own and then headed out towards Dijon. We arrived in Dijon, France at about 2:30. Michela, our guide, took us on a short walking tour of the area. We came across an old arch/entrance way to the city, a “Notre Dame” cathedral of Dijon – which looks very much like the more famous Notre Dame in Paris. We also walked along “Owl Street” – so named, in French, as it has a carved owl on the side of the church where if you touch it with your left hand and make a wish, it will come true!!!! We also got to see the former palace of the dukes of Burgundy, which are now a municipal building and museum. We were then given free time to explore this quaint little European city before we had to meet up. Yellow bus and red bus were separated into 2 hotels tonight. We are off to Paris tomorrow! Woot woot!
