May 4 – last day in London

Today was a mix of many things!   Some of us chose to sleep in as we had free time in the morning.  The fast paced nature of the PAYTC’s European trip caught up to a few travelers and they needed some R & R.   However, a large group of travlers took on the morning by heading out at 8:30 to go to either the British Museum or the Tower of London.

The Tower of London was an amazing site because it had incredible historic facts along with its amazing architecture and location. In the Tower of London was the Crown Jewels which made me hypnotized with its huge diamonds and elaborate gold designs. The Tower bridge was a highlight of London for me because it was an icon of London, and is much more impressive in person. Another thing that surprised me about London was the Underground, it was really fun to navigate through the trains and subways while talking to the locals and hearing their stories and suggestions for where I should go next.

In the afternoon, some of us also enjoyed a “Harry Potter Walking Tour” where we were shown the sites of inspiration for J.K. Rowling and some actual movie scene locations.
